Frederik Rentrop began producing electronic music under the name Carrowbeg in 2013. The name comes from an Irish river – a nod to the flow and repetition that define the project's sound: loop-driven and built on minimal elements that reveal depth through constraint.
Beyond music, his profession as media designer has shaped his creative practice. Writing and photography have been part of his creative practice since the early 2000s, informing the way he approaches composition – not just sonically, but as a form of storytelling across media. His work in film, video, and lyric poetry runs parallel to Carrowbeg, creating a broader artistic landscape where sound, image, and language intersect.
He lives in Halle an der Saale, Germany. More of his work can be found at frederikrentrop.de
